Tired of pretending
To hurt when I do not
Is it wrong to want to feel emotion?
I want my own experiences
Not just read it in a story.
The shell I've built around myself
Has closed me in.
And now when I finally try to get out
I fall, again and again.
So melodramatic I may be
Faking my emotions.
But I'd like to think they're part of me
And, unreal as they may be
This fake suffering I hide in
I ask you
Can you blame me?
